With over 20,000 named varieties across the globe apple is one of the most widely cultivated tree fruits.
According to some researches, the tree originated from Central Asia and most likely was the earliest tree to be cultivated. The thousands of years of selection helped improve its fruits and create many varieties including dessert apples (the ones for eating), apples cultivated specifically for cooking or producing cider. Allegedly, the world's biggest collection of apple cultivars is housed at the National Fruit Collection in England.
Apple holds a very high position in our culture, religion, and mythology with the apple that Eve cajoled Adam to share with her being the most famous one. However, there is a recent theory that that was not an apple Eve gave to Adam, but a green to orange fruit called Strychnos nux-vomica which seeds contain approximately 1.5% strychnine. Apple seeds, by the way, are mildly poisonous too, containing a small amount of amygdalin which is usually not enough to be dangerous to humans, but it can be harmful for birds.

Jogging is an aerobic exercise, i.e. the one that involves or improves oxygen consumption by the body. The term jogging in its main modern sense is attested from 1565 but mostly dates from 1948.
In 1966 track coach Bill Bowerman published the book Jogging. He was the one who established jogging programs for men and women of all ages, thus making jogging as an exercise for everyone throughout the United States very popular.

It takes only 3 to 5 minutes to have your instant noodles ready, but it took decades to concoct a right recipe for them.
Momofuku Ando, the founder of Nissin Food Products Co and father of first instant noodles was inspired by sight of people queuing to buy bowls of hot ramen noodle soup at a black market stall after World War II.
His noodles were boiled with flavoring, then deep-fried with palm oil to remove moisture, and dried into a noodle cake.
He developed his first instant noodles, Chicken Ramen, in 1958, and in 1971 he added a waterproof polystyrene container that made his Cup Noodle an instant success.
Since then Nissin was the leader of global instant noodle industry with 85.7 billion servings sold every year. According to a Japanese poll in 2000, instant noodles were the most important Japanese invention of the century, followed by Karaoke (2nd), and Compact Disc (5th).
The idea of SMS – short message service began to be discussed in the the beginning of the 1980s, but the companies started to develop its commercial possibilities only in the early 1990s. However, the initial growth was slow as the companies could not work out the reliable systems of charging for this service. In 1995 there were only 0.4 messages on average per GSM customer per month.
But once procedures were in place the texting skyrocketed. By the end of 2000, the average number of messages reached 35 per user per month, and on Christmas Day 2006, over 205m texts went out in the UK alone.
Today, this service is used by 74% of all mobile phone subscribers, or 2.4 billion people.
In some languages SMS is used as a synonym for a text message, or even a verb, though technically speaking SMS is a certain communication protocol, and some companies use different protocols for sending and receiving text messages.
